Tips for a New Blogger

I have two blogs and people all the time ask me if I have lost my mind. Yes and no.

My blog here is all in my mind and from experience, no research is needed just inspiration on what to write about. My other blog, Green4u, is about the environment and green living. I am passionate about the environment, I like to read about it, watch documentaries about it, live protecting it, and anything else I can think of that relates to it. That said I have to spend a lot of time researching.

My advice to a new blogger write about something you love, are passionate about and will never lose interest in. It has to be something that you really want to write about as often as you can.

Here are some other tips

  • If you do not think you can write everyday set a schedule for yourself and your readers so they know when to expect your posts.
  • Proofread as best you can (see my other post on proofreading here)
  • Buy your domain name as soon as you start just in case it becomes a big deal and you wish you had it… I regret not purchasing my environmental one.

Most importantly is enjoy it. It is an amazing way to learn more, meet great people, and stay up to date on something that matters to you.

Here are some great bloggers I know personally who are blogging about what they are personally committed to:

Miguel at MiguelJose85 is an aspiring comedian who writes two times a week (warning he can get a little racy)

Sharon at Cupcakes and Cutlery is an amazing blogger who writes about her life and awesome party planning ideas. She has the networking thing for bloggers down she knows so many people and she really works with so many bloggers.

Laura at Parentables she write about technology and children and is one of the founders of Discovery Kids Puterbugs .
